See you later, Emily!

This week was my last week at Calasanz, and very "bittersweet" to say goodbye. I've really enjoyed my time here and I hope that everyone has enjoyed me being here as well. This week I brought a special recipe to the bilingual classes, (except the 5 year olds, because they don´t need any more sugar!!), and with the second grade we made "friendship bracelets" to remember each other. Enjoy these pictures and the recipe below!

A Special Visit from our American Friends

The second grade classes were VERY lucky on May 16th. This year we have been penpals with some students on the American military base in Rota. We have exchanged letters, cards, and holiday greetings with them. Finally, last week we were able to meet them face-to-face! They came to Calasanz and we spent the day with them. We had SO much fun!! Here are some pictures from the day.

We began the day doing a picture frame craft with tissue paper and cardstock.

Afterwards, they showed us pictures of their school and explained school traditions and parties that they have.

After that, some of the 6th grade girls explained the traditions of the feria, and danced Sevillanas for us.

They taught us how to do the first steps of the dance, but some of the kids already knew! Even the Americans!

After learning Sevillanas, we went out to the patio to play games. We had three stations: 1) Spanish games, 2)American games, and 3)Parachute games. We had SUCH a good time!

Thank you SO much for visiting us! We had an amazing time!!
